Charlamagne Tha God is being sued for alleged sexual assault on a 15-year-old girl in 2001.

Charlamagne Tha God is being sued for a purported sexual assault in 2001.

Charlamagne Tha God is regarded as one of the most renowned powers in hip-hop and radio. Many people recognize him as the host of The Breakfast Club, which remains one of the most popular shows on the air even after Angela Yee’s departure.

However, Charlamagne is now dealing with legal troubles from his past. According to Radar Online, he is being sued for damages in connection with a sexual assault event in 2001. This originates from offering a drugged drink to a 15-year-old girl, Jessica Reid, at a party. Charlamagne was 22 years old at the time. As a result, he allegedly allowed two other guys to sexually abuse her at that party, which he then proceeded to do, as well.

Documents state that Charlamagne engaged in “willfully, unlawfully, and feloniously [engaging] in penile/vaginal intercourse with a fifteen-year-old female child.” In 2001, he was initially facing a “charge of criminal sexual conduct with a minor in the 2nd degree.”

Reid is also said to have remembered being in an ambulance, while in shock and hyperventilating. However, Charlamagne has denied these allegations, for many years. Reid’s DNA supposedly wasn’t found on his rape kit, in 2018. She also decided not to cooperate with authorities.

At this point, Reid is claiming that Charlamagne called her a groupie, and a liar. She is also hurt by seeing him on various large media platforms. His attorney, Michael Weinstein, has since denied the allegations.

“We are confident that Ms. Reid’s meritless civil lawsuit in which she represents herself will be promptly dismissed. This is the same sexual assault claim that was fully investigated and dismissed by authorities in South Carolina more than 21 years ago.”
