Victor Boniface of Union Saint Gilloise has won the UEFA Europa League Player of the Week award.
Boniface won the individual award ahead of Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes, Roma’s Paulo Dybala, and Bayer Leverkusen center-back Edmond Tapsoba.
On Thursday night, the 22-year-old scored a brace in Union Saint Gilloise’s 3-3 draw with Bundesliga club Union Berlin.
On Friday, UEFA announced the winner of the award, a Nigerian striker, on its official Twitter handle.
“Victor Boniface has been named #UEL Player of the Week!” says a tweet on the UEFA website.
This season, he has five goals.
