Badiashile expresses a desire to learn from Silva at Chelsea.

Benoit Badiashile, the new Chelsea signing, says he can’t wait to learn from Thiago Silva.

Remember that the French defender signed a deal until 2030 at Stamford Bridge last week and has expressed his pleasure at joining the Blues and how much he can’t wait to get to work with his new teammates.

However, in an interview with the Club’s website, Badiashile noted that Chelsea is a wonderful club with excellent players and that he is excited to learn from Silva.

“It’s a pleasure to be here at Chelsea,” he said, according to the club’s website.

“It’s a massive club. I’ve followed Chelsea for a long time and love the club’s rich history, so it’s an honor to be able to play here.

“Chelsea is a great club with great players. I remember watching players like John Terry, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba when I was younger and it’s a real joy to be able to play for a team that used to have players like this in the changing room.”

In terms of the current squad, Benoit revealed he is familiar with one member while he confirmed his excitement at getting to work with another defender at Cobham.

“I know Wesley [Fofana] very well,” added Badiashile. “He and I have played together for the national team, so I’m really happy to be able to join him here.

“Then there are some really big names here in the dressing room, like Thiago Silva who is an absolute legend of the game.

“He’s a player I look up to and I’m really happy to have the opportunity to work with him and hopefully play next to him.”
