Awoniyi Set For Nottingham Forest, Onuachu Helps Genk Beat Anderlecht

Nottingham Forest overcame Blackburn Rovers 4-1 in the fourth round of the League Cup on Wednesday night at Ewood Park, thanks to a goal from Taiwo Awoniyi.

Awoniyi scored his team’s third goal of the game 11 minutes from time.

The forward was active throughout the game.

Emmanuel Dennis, his international teammate, was an unused substitute for Nottingham Forest in the encounter.

Raphael Onyedika was in action in Belgium, when Club Brugge were blasted 4-1 by Sint-Truiden in a Cup match.


In the 33rd minute, Onyedika was booked.

The midfielder played the entire game.

In another Belgian Cup clash, Paul Onuachu featured from the start in Genk’s hard-earned 1-0 win against Anderlecht at the Cegeka Arena.

Ghana forward, Joseph Paintsil scored the winning goal on 105 minutes.

Onuachu has scored 15 goals in 16 appearances across all competitions for the Smurfs this season.
