The Nigerian international, who replaced Guessand in the 74th minute, had a good game.
Lens took an unexpected lead in the 28th minute thanks to a superb strike from Seko Fofana.
To the delight of the home fans, Nantes leveled the score in the 31st minute with Andy Delort’s well-taken penalty.
Delort completed his hat trick in the 59th minute with another penalty, sending the host to the next round of the cup competition.
