Following his impressive performance in Friday’s third-place play-off against Tunisia at the U-20 AFCON, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has described Flying Eagles forward Jude Sunday as a rising star.
Sunday, who made his tournament debut against Tunisia, netted a brace as the Flying Eagles won 4-0.
He scored the Flying Eagles’ third goal after dribbling past two Tunisians and hitting a left-foot strike.
Sunday completed his hat trick and the Flying Eagles’ fourth late in the game with a superb volley into the roof of the net.
In response to Sunday’s performance, CAF tweeted: “WHAT A PLAYER! WHAT A SHOW!
“Two stunning goals, TotalEnergies Man of the Match 👏.
“Jude Sunday is a star in the making 💫.”
The Flying Eagles and Tunisia have already qualified for this year’s FIFA U-20 World Cup Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the final of the U-20 AFCON will hold today, Saturday, March 11, between Senegal and Gambia.
